Review for Moroccan Selection On Etsy

http://www.etsy.com/shop/MoroccanSelection

I recently wanted to try some new health products that were natural so I first came across Coconut Oil & African black soap- For the coconut oil I began using it all over my body after a nice shower, it moisturizes and makes my skin so soft!  The African Black Soap did wonders for my complexion as it is a great gentle exfoliator making my face clean and clear without harmful chemicals. I then heard about this company and argan oil from a friend.  They had a sale for Mother’s Day so I took advantage and purchased the Moroccan Argan Oil Cleansing Bar and the Organic Argan Oil.  I received them three days later and in perfect condition.  Argan Oil is from a tree and has many uses for the body, hair, skin, and nails.  I love using products that have been around for ages because these are typically inexpensive, all natural, and hey, if cultures have been using them for centuries, it is for a reason!  On the hair it makes it so smooth and soft, it is truly unbelievable.  I also use the Organic Argan Oil on my face at night.  I have been talking to some older friends that have been using this stuff and they said their wrinkles around mouth and eyes have greatly diminished.  I have also been noticing by using the body bar a great reduction in the appearance of scars and stretchmarks.

From the Website:

100% pure, cold-pressed Argan Oil
A rich, protective, and nourishing organic skin care that reduces the signs of aging, diminishes dehydration, and improves the vibrant, healthy look of your hair. Ideal for all skin types.
More resistant to oxidation than olive oil.

2oz/ 60ml

What is the composition of Argan Oil?

Argan Oil contains an impressive amount of nourishing and replenishing natural vitamins, anti-inflammatory agents, polyunsaturated fats, and high levels of vitamin E. Here is a quick list of Argan’s oil’s dominant characteristics:
• Vitamin F (omega 6): anti-aging and anti-dryness of skin
• Vitamin E : 2 times the amount in olive oil! A powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory for sensitive skin, UV protection, and aids in coetaneous micro-circulation. Also neutralises free radicals.
• Vitamin A : Increases skin elasticity, stimulates collagen synthesis, prevents wrinkles due to UV.
• Phenols : antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, powerful against fungus and bacteria, activates blood circulation and activates Vitamin C.
• Triterpens restructure cells, is anti-inflammatory and slows down cell aging.

Cleansing Bar

100% natural moisturising argan oil soap, wrapped for freshness – proven to moisturise and keep skin soft.

To name but a few of its benefits:
-It acts as an antioxidant.
-It can help protect muscles from age related degeneration.
-It softens dry skin, rehydrates and revitalises tired and wrinkled skin to help give skin a youthful glow.
-It can aid relief for burns and scars.
-It strengthens nails and stops both fingernails and toenails from becoming dry.
-It can help reduce psoriasis and the look of stretch-marks.
Soap Dimensions: 1 x 3 x 4 inches

My first opinion on size and pricing.  When I first received the products I thought the cleansing bar was a good price for the amount of soap, but I thought the Argan Oil was overpriced for such a small container, HOWEVER, a little does go a long way with this so it has changed my opinion.

I also thought it was interesting that they also sold Kohl eyeliner as well as jewelry and Ghasoul clay powder which I also heard is really great for the skin.

I would like to try the Clay powder products next!

Lime Crime: my experiences and overall review

hey everyone, I decided to start some reviews on companies that I have encountered and what I have experienced so far!

This first one is Lime Crime! http://www.limecrimemakeup.com/

Products I currently own:  Lipsticks (Mint to Be, Countessa Fluorescent, Retrofuturist, Cosmopop, Glamour 101, Airborne Unicorn, D’Liliac, Great Pink Planet, Styletto, Coquette) Loose Eyeshadows (Nymph, Twilight, Cupcake Thief, Medusa, Diva, Mirror Mirror, Empress, Top Hattie, Shoe Addict)

As many have said, Lime Crime packaging is cute and adorable, starting from the box it comes shipped in to the products themselves, embellished in holographic unicorns and purple containers.  The delivery is super quick and easy and they typically add fun stickers or colored photo look cards which is nice and helpful with their different promotions.

So how did I get started on this brand? I was just starting to get into makeup, and I remember having a great silver shadow, and I was looking to restock or find one more metallic.  I came across this brand and immediately fell in love with mirror mirror.  I then became adventurous enough to try the lipsticks and they soon became my favorite.

They have quickly ascended to the top of brands rather quickly, similar in level to Sugarpill in popularity.  My review on the products I have- Lipsticks I love the lipsticks to death, they are unique and have great pigmentation.  They are most definitely my favorite.  The loose magic dusts: Some are really nice and hold well without primer *i never have to use primers for eyemakeup* others however require it and are hard to have adhere without it.  This was annoying because I have never had this problem with eye makeup.  Some are really lovely when applied wet *such as mirror mirror, top hattie, nymph* these shimmery ones also seemed to adhere well without primer.  The less shimmery ones such as medusa, empress, twilight, do not adhere very well.  I would recommend keeping that in mind when purchasing these.

They have an eyeshadow primer as well although I have not tried it, as I don’t normally use primers because I normally use shadows wet or do not need it.  I have purchased a pretty nice primer from ELF for $1.00 so I have not found a need to buy a more expensive one in my opinion.

They have random giveaways and fun swatches community on the Facebook!  They also have nice discounts for random things like Facebook likes or holidays so I definitely recommend buying during that time.  They now have lipstick trios, with slightly discounted prices, which have nice colors that fit the desired theme.

They have more recently came up with Carousel Lip Gloss, Nail Polish, Pressed eyeshadow palettes, Eyeliners and soon to come “Face” products which I am assuming will consist of blushes in unconventional shades.  I’m not sure how I feel about all these… I haven’t purchased any of them, they are all super expensive and don’t seem to bring a whole lot to the table.  The glosses looked like they have nice colors and good pigmentation, but were too pricey for my tastes…. at $17.00 a pop, it was just not worth it to me, as glosses seem to be the first to get used up…I was eyeing up the reds though :/  Onward to the two pressed eyeshadow palettes, China Doll & D’Antionette. China Doll consists of bright colors while D’Antionette is more subdued subtle pastels, perfect for springtime. They look nice and the colors all seem to coordinate well at least from the reviews and looks others like Jangsara and Rose Shock have done, but again, they are $34.00 each…although the reviews seem really positive.  Perhaps when I get a nice job after college :p  Onward to my impression of the new liners and nail polish.  There is currently a preview of the nail polish, and to be honest, it looks rather small and the packaging looks super cute, but I don’t think they will be anything super amazing and I have this feeling they will be kinda expensive.  I guess the best thing about nail polishes though is that they last a very long time, although from sneak peaks on tumblr, they appear to be all pastels/highlighter shades with no sparkles and all the same type of finish which seems disappointing as nail polish has really become innovative, with different finishes *matte is really in now* and there is even magnetic nail polish! They had a lot of possibilities here, especially since they try to take pride in making different products than the average person and it doesn’t seem that interesting which is kinda sad :c.  Now lastly, the liners.  These have a variety of shades, from black to white, orange to blue, they seem rather bright, but they are all the same finish, again, no sparkles or metallics :< The packages look nice and the containers look cute, I feel like these should have been mascaras, they would have been epic especially with the colors.  They have a brush applicator, and I have a hard time with those, and these are $14.00 so kinda pricey.

Overall, I think they should do some mascaras, and make some more lipsticks, as I think they are their strong point and they will be the main thing I will purchase from them.  Sometimes, spreading yourself too thin and doing too many different types of things can hurt a company, so I hope this doesn’t happen to them.  I would highly recommend the lipsticks, and the shimmery/metallic shadows.  And of course wait for sales!

Hope this was helpful, this is my honest review and opinion!
